Okay for those of you still here, this site has been built to connect Windley family, friends and relatives together across the globe.
A Windley community if you like. I will be doing some research into family history

Hey Windleys,
We just added a "Mini Site" capability to let our users create their own mini sites, kind of like Facecbook or MySpace.
At present you can build up to 5 pages, including texts, pics, movies and sounds all about you as a Windley and your family connections, what you like and dislike, what you do and dont do, the whole shooting match if you like (minus any Windley smut).
So heres another opportunity to share your Windleyness with the community.
Drop me a line if you want to know more. Basically you just need to log in to use it and on the left hand side (below the main menu) you will see some more menus to allow you to create your pages and update your community profile. You may need to hit the page reresh button in your browser toolbar after logging in/out to see the change reflected.

Hello Windleys,
Just to let you know that we are experiecing a few problems with the graphical family tree tool. This was most likely caused during installation so I need to (find the time) review it and sort out the problems which are probably small. Once I have got it sorted I will let everybody know how to use the tool and how to upload data. Then we can start building the tree properly. Thank you for your patience and keep signing up all you new Windley members!!

p.s. we are being joined at a rate of about 2 per month - so if you know more windleys then send them along and get 'em signed up ;-).

The old forum has now been retired and all posts and users have now been moved over. I will be resolving some issues with the family tree section and will post details on software that you can use to collate your family information for later upload into the site.
Apologies for any confusion the change overs may be causing but it should make the experience a much better and richer one for all of us onces its completed. |

We now have the ability to share Windley Photographs and pictures.
Eithier use the existing galleries or create your own galleries and upload your pictures.to the Windley Gallery.
You must be logged on to create and upload pictures.

Hello Windleys,
I am trialling a new Forum which has Community capabilities to help build our virtual Windley family tree. You can see the new look and feel (and its better integrated into the site) at the new Windley FORUM lnk. More on this very soon once I have completed the upgrade/move from the existing forum. Please continue to use the old forum found on this link Old Forum until this is done.

Well, its been a while since I have been able to do much with this site, but in spite of my effort (or lack of) we have still grown steadily. The recent site down was becuase I was moving host (the place where our site is stored). The site had been moved to Hosting Happy who provide some amazing and automated hosting features which I won't bore you with.
There will be some enhancements to the site design at some point and more immediately I will be adding a more advanced community mechanism which will allow people to connect and build some kind of tree. I will upload the ciode shortly and give it whirl.
